Introduction · · · · · ·
"What I Think About While Making Movies" is the first autobiographical essay collection written by Hirokazu Koreeda, winner of the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival, over a period of eight years.
In the book, Hirokazu Koreeda reviews his more than 30 years of creative career, telling the legendary stories, origins and concepts behind each classic work, and recording his exploration and thinking about movies, as well as his views on the world and life in each creative period. It not only brings together the philosophical thoughts and inspiration of film masters, but also tells the inspirational journey of a director who is down-to-earth, from making films on credit to winning awards at major film festivals around the world.
After the publication of "What I Think When Making Movies" in Japan, it was urgently reprinted six times and received high praise from major media such as "Asahi Shimbun". It was even praised: Even after another 100 years, this book will definitely be the Bible for creators. The world is so wonderful, everyday life is beautiful, and life itself is a miracle. All the reasons why Hirokazu Koreeda moved the world are in this book.
