Description
Introduction · · · · · ·
In 1944, 16-year-old Edith Eva Egger was sent to Auschwitz, where she endured unimaginable suffering, including dancing The Blue Danube in the barracks for the infamous Josef Mengele. Edith recreates her short and long youth in the concentration camp, telling the story of how she and her sister encouraged each other to survive. When their camp was finally liberated, Edith was dragged from a pile of corpses, barely alive.
In Embracing Possibility, Dr. Egger shares the extraordinary stories of her experiences in World War II and those she has healed since. Today, she is an internationally renowned psychologist whose patients include survivors of the war and soldiers suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). She explains the psychological prison many of us live in and shows how, once we face suffering, we can choose freedom.
