Emil Ludwig
One of the greatest biographers of the 20th century. He became famous in 1920 with "Goethe's Life", and later became world-renowned with "Napoleon's Life". His major works include "Michelangelo's Life" and "Lincoln's Life". He pioneered the biographical writing method that combines historical description with literary creation, focusing on the meticulous psychological portrayal and character analysis of the protagonist, vividly reproducing the image of the characters of the times in front of readers, and then created a new school of biographical writing.
Liang Xijiang is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the German Department of Shanghai International Studies University, and also serves as the deputy director of the Sino-German Humanities Research Center. He is a Shanghai Shuguang scholar. His research interests include the history of German linguistics, the history of German science and technology, German romanticism, and Austrian 20th century literature. He has translated works such as "The Biography of Napoleon", "The Slow Homecoming", "The Genealogy of Morality", and "When the Stars of Humanity Shine". Shi Jianchuan graduated from the Department of Foreign Languages of Hangzhou University with a bachelor's degree in German in 1987, and from the Department of Spanish Languages of Peking University with a master's degree in German in 1990. Since graduation, he has worked at the German-Chinese Translation Center of Hangzhou University and the Institute of German Studies of Zhejiang University.
Gong Yan graduated from the German Department of Beijing Foreign Studies University in 2000 and obtained a master's degree in 2003. She has been teaching at the German Department of Shanghai Tongji University since April 2003.
