Yu Hua calls this book "Literature or Music" his personal reading book, the book of harmony. The 28 articles collected record Yu Hua's personal reading and listening history for 30 years. His repeated immersion in classic masterpieces, repeated rereading and echoing are all condensed between the lines of 330 pages. Here, with the keenness and empathy of a "novelist", he repeatedly asks questions and leads us to approach masters such as Borges, Faulkner, Kafka, Chekhov, Marquez, Shostakovich, Tchaikovsky, etc., analyzes their narrative techniques in detail, and reaches the secrets in their creations. These classic works are also glowing with everlasting vitality in the unremitting reading and interpretation. Whether it is resonance or refutation, the arrival of these colorful moments has aroused the tension between reading and the original.
