——Hu Yuzhi
Dave was full of emotions, profound in observation, and quick in thinking. He had a solid foundation in classical and Western literature. In terms of temperament, he was an outstanding lyric poet, and his prose and novels were merely the spread of poetry. His life was a long poem of ever-changing and soul-stirring emotions. Such poets are rare in the history of modern poetry. In the ranks of new literary writers, there were few who could rival him, except for Lu Xun and Tian Han.
