Julian Fellowes
British author, screenwriter, director and producer.
In 2002, 53-year-old Fellowes won the Best Original Screenplay Award at the 74th Academy Awards for the film "Gosford Park".
In 2011, he won the Best Screenplay Award at the 63rd Emmy Awards for Downton Abbey. The series set a record of super high ratings, becoming the most successful British period drama of the contemporary era, and won the Guinness World Record for "the world's most acclaimed TV series in 2010".
Fellowes also wrote plays such as "Vanity Fair", "The Young Victoria" and "Romeo and Juliet", as well as novels such as "Snobbish" and "The Past Is Not Gone".
Fellowes was made a life peer in 2011.
