About the Author
Zhang Li is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Literature of Beijing Normal University. She is one of the "Top Ten Most Popular Teachers for Graduate Students" at Beijing Normal University. She is also the deputy director of the Prose Committee of the Chinese Writers Association and a special researcher at the China Modern Literature Museum.
She has written The Occurrence of Modern Chinese Women's Writing (1898-1925), Landscape of Novels, The Holder of a Small Fire, I Saw Countless Hers, etc. She is the editor-in-chief of Beijing in Essays, Selected Chinese Women's Literature in 2021, Looking at the Clouds: 20 Chinese Short Stories in 2021, The Man with a Lamp: 20 Chinese Essays in 2021, We Boil at Different Temperatures, and Thoughts on Life: Essays for Teenagers. She won the 8th Lu Xun Literary Award for Literary Theory and Criticism, the Outstanding Achievement Award for Chinese Women's Literature, and the Best Chinese Essay Award.
