About the Author
Zhang Zhengang is a second-level professor and doctoral supervisor at South China University of Technology. He holds a bachelor's degree in engineering, a master's degree in engineering, and a doctorate in management from South China University of Technology. He also holds a full-time MBA from the University of Hull in the UK. He was formerly the deputy secretary of the Party Committee of South China University of Technology, a member of the Expert Committee of the Decision-making Advisory Committee of the Guangdong Provincial People's Government, and a member of the Academic Committee of the Chinese Society for Academic Degrees and Graduate Education. He was selected as a high-level talent in the New Century Excellent Talent Support Program of the Ministry of Education and the Guangdong Special Support Program. As the chief expert, he has successively presided over and undertaken major projects of the National Social Science Fund, such as "Data Empowerment to Inspire Manufacturing Enterprises to Drive Innovation and Its Countermeasures" and "Research on the Advent of China's Urban Society and the Design and Development Strategy of Smart Cities". He has published more than 200 papers in important domestic and foreign core newspapers, magazines and journals such as Guangming Daily, Economic Daily, Nankai Management Review, Science Studies and Chinese Physics, of which 13 papers were reprinted in full by Xinhua Digest and the People's Congress Reprint Information Book and Newspaper Center; published more than 20 books as the first author; and obtained 1 Chinese authorized invention patent and 3 authorized computer software copyrights. He has won the second prize (first ranking) of the 7th Outstanding Scientific Research Achievements Award for Higher Education Institutions (Humanities and Social Sciences) of the Ministry of Education, the Popularization Award of the 6th Outstanding Scientific Research Achievements Award for Higher Education Institutions (Humanities and Social Sciences) of the Ministry of Education (first ranking), the honorary title of "Guangdong Province Outstanding Social Science Popularization Expert", the first prize (first ranking) of the Guangdong Province Outstanding Achievements Award in Philosophy and Social Sciences, and the special prize (third ranking) of the Guangdong Province Science and Technology Award in 1995.
