Liang Shiqiu wrote countless articles about food throughout his life. "Sometimes I feel homesick and talk about delicious food to express my feelings; just to please myself, I go to the butcher's house and eat a lot." This was his original intention when he wrote about food. This edition of Food Talks in the World consists of three parts: "Talking about Food in Yashe", "Talking about Food and Collecting Remnants" and "Knowing Tastes in the World", which is the most complete collection of Liang Shiqiu's famous articles about food.

Liang Shiqiu (January 6, 1903 - November 3, 1987), whose real name was Zhihua and whose courtesy name was Shiqiu, was born in Beijing and his ancestral home was Hangzhou County, Zhejiang Province.
A master of Chinese prose, translator, scholar, literary critic, and the first authority in China on Shakespeare.
In 1915, he was admitted to Tsinghua School
In 1923, he went to Colorado College in the United States to study and received a Bachelor of Arts degree a year later. He then studied at Harvard University and Columbia University.
He returned to China in 1926 and taught at National Southeast University, National Shandong University, Peking University, and Peking Normal University.
In 1927, he founded the Crescent Moon Bookstore with Hu Shi, Xu Zhimo, Wen Yiduo and others, and later participated in the establishment of the Crescent Moon monthly magazine.
Starting from 1930, he translated the Complete Works of Shakespeare by himself in 38 years.
After the July 7 Incident in 1937, he went to Chongqing and served as a member of the National Political Consultative Conference and a member of the Editorial Committee of the National Compilation and Translation Bureau. He lived in Beibei Yashe for a long time.
In 1949, he went to Taiwan and taught at Taiwan Provincial Normal College.
Died of illness in Taipei in 1987
