【Content Introduction】
Paul Celan is the most influential German poet since the second half of the 20th century. Celan's parents died in Nazi concentration camps, and he himself experienced hardships. He wrote in exile with heavy memories. Celan's poems are deeply influenced by French surrealism, full of strange images, and the themes are engraved with deep and strong emotional marks. He weaves a sense of rhythm with difficult language and exquisite structure. He uses poetry to open up the possibility for all literature to persist in speaking in the face of great loss.
This book contains 178 classic poems of Celan selected by Huang Canran, presenting the appearance of Celan's poetry in different periods.
