About the Author
Wu Jun is a scholar, investor, and expert in artificial intelligence, speech recognition, and Internet search. He graduated from Tsinghua University and Johns Hopkins University in the United States. He is currently the founding partner of Amoy Capital, a visiting professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and a director of the Johns Hopkins University School of Engineering.
Dr. Wu Jun has worked at Google and Tencent as a senior researcher and vice president respectively. At Google, he and his colleagues pioneered the field of search anti-fraud research, established Chinese, Japanese and Korean product departments, designed Google's Chinese, Japanese and Korean search algorithms, led Google's natural language processing and automatic question answering and other research projects, and has nearly 20 US invention patents. At Tencent, he was responsible for projects such as search, search advertising and Street View Maps. As a venture capitalist, he has successfully invested in 150 high-tech companies in Silicon Valley and China. Dr. Wu Jun has in-depth research on the technology industry and is the most authoritative expert in interpreting the IT industry in Silicon Valley today.
Dr. Wu Jun has written many best-selling books, including The Beauty of Mathematics, The Road to University, The Light of Civilization, The Age of Intelligence, Insights, Attitudes, and A General History of Global Science and Technology. He has won many book awards including the Wenjin Award, the China Good Book Award, and the Outstanding Chinese Publications Award.
