Introduction
* "Antoine loves you in order to be with you. He wants to be happy with you, that's what he wants at his age. And I, what I want is to make you happy, independent of my own happiness. I can only wait." *
The charming and intelligent Lucille lives with the wealthy Charles, sharing a comfortable life and a respectable circle of friends. At a social dinner, Lucille meets Antoine, an editor at a publishing house, and their tacit understanding gradually turns into love. Antoine asks Lucille to make a choice, and Lucille decides to leave Charles. Charles believes that he has seen through the truth of love and firmly believes that she will come back.
About the Author
Francoise Sagan
Françoise Sagan (1935-2004)
A talented French female writer, a synonym of youth for a generation. With a beautiful appearance, a sensitive heart and a talent for avoiding the important, she likes writing, horse racing, car racing, drinking, making friends in the entertainment and political circles, and letting herself be entangled in lawsuits.
At the age of 18, she won the French Critics Award for her novel "Hello, Sadness". In her lifetime, she published 20 novels, 11 plays, several short stories and essays, and also participated in the creation of films and songs.
At the age of 63, she wrote her own eulogy: "In 1954, she made her debut with a slim novel, Hello, Sadness, which became a world scandal. Her life and her works were as cheerful and frivolous, and her disappearance became a scandal that belonged only to her."
