◆ Introduction ◆
Since the beginning of psychology, no book has ever gone through such a long period of time and twists and turns from the beginning of writing to the publication of the book like The Red Book. Few works have had such a profound impact on the social and intellectual history of the 20th century before it was published. The Red Book can be regarded as Jung's private diary, recording his "self-experimentation" from 1914 to 1930. Jung spent 16 years carefully crafting it and regarded it as the core and key source of his later works. After that, he suddenly stopped writing and put it aside. It was not until decades after Jung's death that the Jung Heirs Association authorized Professor Sonu Shamdasani, a senior Jung scholar, to edit, translate and publish the book. Professor Sonu spent 13 years of hard work on The Red Book before it was finally published. This mysterious "Book of Time" has opened a new era for a full understanding of Jung's works. It opens a unique window into how Jung repaired his soul during a special period in his life, continued to study psychology, and became a master of his generation. The publication of The Red Book is a milestone, both in its place in Jung's life development and as a work of art.
