Stephen King
A master of modern thriller novels. Born in Portland, Maine, USA in 1947, he studied English literature at a state university. After graduation, he embarked on the path of writing due to low wages. Since the publication of his first novel Carrie in 1973, he has written more than 40 novels and more than 200 short stories. Since the 1980s, his works have been a frequent guest on the US bestseller list, and more than 100 film and television works have been adapted from his novels, the most famous of which is The Shawshank Redemption.
In 2003, he won the "Outstanding Contribution Award" of the National Book Award, and later won the "Lifetime Achievement Award" of the World Fantasy Award and the "Master Award" of the "Edgar Allan Poe Award" of the Mystery Writers of America.
Among Stephen King's many works, the most spectacular is the fantasy masterpiece "Dark Tower" series (a total of seven volumes), which took more than 30 years to complete. The characters and plots in the book are scattered in Stephen King's other novels. His new works in recent years include the short story collection "After Sunset", the novella collection "Dark Night Without Stars" and the novels "11/22/63" and "Under the Dome".
