About the Author

Oscar Wilde was born in Dublin, Ireland on October 16, 1854. He was a representative writer of British aestheticism, a fairy tale writer and a playwright. He wrote the novel The Picture of Dorian Gray, the fairy tale The Happy Prince, the letter De Profundis, and the plays Salome and Lady Windermere's Fan. On November 30, 1900, Wilde died of meningitis in a hotel in Paris at the age of 46.

Li Yuyao is a translator and editor, currently working at Shanghai Translation Publishing House. She has translated more than 20 works, including Heirlooms, A Dance of Happy Shadows, The Island Bookshop, Room, Margaret Town, Dances with Wolves, and Passion. Among them, Heirlooms won the 2018 Book Industry Annual Selection Annual Translation Award.
