"Many years have passed. People say that the past can be buried, but I finally realized that this is wrong, because the past will crawl up on its own. Looking back, I realized that for the past 26 years, I have been peering into that deserted alley."
Amir, a 12-year-old rich Afghan boy, and his servant Hassan are close friends. However, after a kite-flying competition, a tragic incident occurred. Amir felt guilty and distressed for his cowardice, so he forced Hassan to leave. Soon, he also fled to the United States with his father.
As an adult, Amir still cannot forgive himself for betraying Hassan. In order to atone for his sins, Amir once again sets foot on his hometown after more than 20 years, hoping to do his last bit of effort for his unfortunate friend, but he discovers a shocking lie. The nightmare of his childhood comes back again. What choice should Amir make?
