"Runaway" tells the story of the power of love and endless betrayal, the restlessness and missed opportunities in trivial life, the repeated escapes and the price people pay for them. Munro pays attention to daily life and is good at capturing the complex and subtle relationships between people. People of different ages and situations are vivid and tangible in Munro's simple and restrained writing.
Everyone will always encounter something or someone that makes you feel like a fatal needle is stuck in your lungs. You may not feel the pain when you take a shallow breath. But every time you need to take a deep breath, you can feel that the needle is always there.
“The essence of life is to live in this world with interest. Open your eyes and see the possibilities and humanity in everyone you meet. Always pay attention.”
