Chi Zijian, female, member of the Sixth Plenary Committee of the Chinese Writers Association, vice chairman of the Heilongjiang Writers Association, and first-class writer. Born on the Lantern Festival in 1964 in Mohe, China's Arctic Village, she spent her childhood by the Heilongjiang River. She graduated from Daxing'anling Normal School in 1984 and studied in the postgraduate class jointly organized by Beijing Normal University and Lu Xun Academy of Literature in 1987. After graduation in 1990, she worked for the Heilongjiang Writers Association and has been working there ever since.
She started writing in 1983 and has published five million words of literary works and more than 40 single-volume books. Her main works include novels such as "Under the Tree", "Morning Bells Ringing in the Dusk", "Manchukuo", and "Clearance Beyond the Clouds"; collections of short stories such as "Fairy Tales of Arctic Village", "White Snow Cemetery", "Traveling Towards the White Night", "The Flowing River", "Silver", "Friends Come and See the Snow", "Clear Water Washing Dust", "Misty Moon Cowshed", "Selected Works of Contemporary Writers Series - Chi Zijian Volume", "Andante in the Moonlight", and collections of prose and essays such as "The Beauty of Sadness", "Listening to Time Flying", "It's Snowing in My World", and "Selected Essays of Chi Zijian". Four volumes of "Collected Works of Chi Zijian" and three volumes of "The Essence of Chi Zijian's Works" have been published.
He has won many literary awards, including the Lu Xun Literature Award and the Australian Suspense Sentence Literature Award. His works have been published overseas in English, French, Italian and other languages.
