Introduction

This book is a translation of Omar Khayyam's Rubaiyat in seven-character quatrains, based on the first edition of Edward Fitzgerald's English translation, and is supplemented with Gordon Ross's (1872-1946) prints (1941 New York Pocket Books edition of Rubaiyat). At the same time, this book includes relevant prefaces and biographies such as Zhong Jin's translation of Omar Khayyam: The Persian Astronomical Poet, Shi Renzhi's translation of Fitzgerald's Biography, and Sui Qian's translation of Ondermey Leaf Preface.
