Description
Introduction · · · · · ·
Lu Xun is a cultural giant born in the cultural upheaval of the East and the West in the 20th century, and one of the greatest Chinese writers of the 20th century. This set of Selected Works of Lu Xun consists of four volumes, based on the authoritative version of The Complete Works of Lu Xun published by People's Literature Publishing House in 2005, and selects all kinds of classics from Lu Xun's works, including novels, essays, poems, essays, academic works, etc.
The first volume contains three parts: "Selected Novels of Lu Xun", "Selected Prose of Lu Xun" and "Collection of Poems of Lu Xun", which integrate Lu Xun's novels, essays and poems. Lu Xun is a special existence in the history of modern Chinese novels. His novel creation represents the achievements and level of modern Chinese novels (short stories); Lu Xun's prose may recall the past, or chat casually, or reflect on himself, or discuss current affairs, or remember close friends. The text reveals Lu Xun's special feelings for people, animals, hometown and nature; Lu Xun's poetry collection uses deep writing to write the profound connotation and broad meaning of poetry, which can be called a fine poem.
The second and third volumes are "Selected Essays of Lu Xun". The most numerous and most significant works of Lu Xun are essays. In his essays, Lu Xun expressed his firm opposition to the cultural tradition of Chinese authoritarianism and called for the promotion of reform. The editor, Mr. Zhu Zheng, selected Lu Xun's most brilliant and important essays to compile the second and third volumes of this set of books, "Selected Essays of Lu Xun", which respectively include Lu Xun's essays written before 1929 and his finest essays written after 1930.
The fourth volume is "Selected Academic Works of Lu Xun" and "Selected Letters of Lu Xun". "Selected Academic Works of Lu Xun" compiles Mr. Lu Xun's academic works, mainly including "Outline of the History of Chinese Literature", "Historical Changes of Chinese Novels" and other academic papers. Among them, Lu Xun talked about the origin of characters, the reform of Chinese characters, the development of literature and the popularization of literature in "Wen Tan Wai", covering a wide range of aspects, and used a casual style to describe profound knowledge, which really achieved the goal of making the profound easy to understand; while those articles that promote the Latinization of Chinese characters and fail to see the historical role of non-phonetic Chinese characters in maintaining China as a unified country are not included in this collection. "Selected Letters of Lu Xun" selects 258 letters related to Lu Xun's life and deeds, or expressing his important opinions on history, culture and academics, so that readers can understand Lu Xun's situation and living conditions in different periods, while purely business correspondence is not included in this collection.
As a short anthology, Mr. Zhu Zheng selects the best works of Lu Xun, allowing readers to read articles that best reflect Lu Xun's spirit and insights, and strives to provide readers with an introductory book to understand Lu Xun and his works.
