Description
Introduction · · · · · ·
Written by legendary venture capitalist John Doerr, this book reveals how the OKR goal-setting system has enabled technology giants such as Intel and Google to achieve explosive growth, and how it can promote the thriving development of all organizations.
In the 1970s, Doerr first encountered OKR while working as an engineer at Intel. Later, as a venture capitalist, Doerr spared no effort to share this management wisdom with more than 50 companies and institutions, including Google, Amazon, LinkedIn, Facebook, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and even the charity project of rock singer Bono. With Doerr's help, any company that successfully implements OKR will achieve rapid development.
OKR focuses on the setting of goals and key results. Through the synergy of four major tools - focus, collaboration, tracking and extension, it reveals the most important aspects of business operations, unifies goals from top to bottom, ensures that managers and employees are on the right track, strengthens the enterprise as a whole, and improves corporate performance, job satisfaction and employee retention.
In the book "This is OKR", based on his years of experience in spreading OKR in companies and organizations of different sizes, Doerr uses first-person accounts and wonderful case studies, as well as personal accounts from many people including Bill Gates and Bono, to show that under the coordination of the OKR system, various different companies have achieved remarkable, flexible, rapid and explosive growth. Whether it is a startup or a company of different sizes, this book will help them get the same magic.
