About the Author
Professor Cao Yiqiang was born in Hangzhou in 1957. He is the dean of the School of Arts and Humanities of the China Academy of Art, a doctoral supervisor, and the editor-in-chief of New Art. He is also a member of the Art Discipline Evaluation Group of the State Council, the head of the Art Discipline Group of the Master of Arts Guidance Committee of the Ministry of Education, and a member of the Art Theory Committee of the Chinese Artists Association. He is also a distinguished professor and doctoral supervisor at Nanjing Normal University and Shanghai University. He has served as an international consultant for the British Art History, a researcher at the Oxford University Museum, a senior researcher at the National Gallery of Art, a member of the Clark Academy of Art, and a visiting professor at the University of Michigan and the University of Pennsylvania. He pays attention to the construction of the discipline of Chinese art history and is committed to studying the relationship between art and thought, image and history, and art and international exchanges.
