Masanobu Ando is a Japanese ceramic artist, tea lover, owner of Baicao Art Gallery, and a representative of life crafts. He was born in Gifu Prefecture, Japan in 1957. His ancestors were ceramic wholesalers. He became a repeater in high school because he was obsessed with jazz. After graduating from the Sculpture Department of Musashino Art University, he rekindled his passion for ceramics and turned to the ceramic art world.

He is committed to breaking the barriers between traditional crafts and modern art, exploring art rooted in life, and seeking the beauty of design, life, nature, and the East in daily life. He also has a deep understanding of tea ceremony, rock music, and jazz.
