They are ships that are not close to each other, but they are in the same river.
In times like these, everyone bears the burden of the world's chaos and the resentment that comes with it.
What you are betting against is not anything else but fate, just fate.
In China in 1936, the situation was in chaos and unclear, with civil war and foreign war on the verge of breaking out. Lu Beicai, a carpenter from the countryside of Guangdong, was thrown into the waves of the times, where he was kneaded, crushed, and floated up and down.
He left home to join Chen Jitang's army, accidentally learned his brother's secrets and almost lost his life; he sneaked to Hong Kong to work as a coolie to make a living, and was involved in a murder case of a foreigner; he fled to Guangzhou in desperation and joined the Hongmen through his brother's introduction... In the gamble with fate, Lu Beicai always seemed to have the luck to turn danger into safety. When he returned to Hong Kong again, he changed his name to Beiwei Nan and became the leader of Sun Xingshe, and was respectfully called "Nan Ye" by the underworld.
But the gamble of history never goes according to the rules. The threat from the Japanese is getting closer and closer. The Shanghai Green Gang is coming, and Wang Jingwei's people are coming. The rivers and lakes are in turmoil, and the secret bomb in Nan Ye's heart seems to be ready to explode at any time...
