About the Author · · · · · ·

Ma Jiahui was born in Wan Chai, Hong Kong in 1963. He holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from National Taiwan University, a master's degree in social science from the University of Chicago, and a doctorate in sociology from the University of Wisconsin. He is a well-known media personality, columnist, host, and cultural critic. He used to think that he loved making movies, doing research, and traveling, but now he realizes that what he loves most is doing nothing except occasionally sitting in his study, facing the computer and typing.

He grew up in the 1970s when Hong Kong's economy was booming, but he left Hong Kong for Taiwan because he read Li Ao. He has been writing columns for more than 30 years, making jokes and comments on the world; he started to think about writing novels when he was over 50, and his first works were amazing. Novelist Ma Jiahui officially debuted.

He has written "Uncle", "Little Sister", "The Secret Affair of Time", "It's Not Bad to Die Here", "Falling in Love with Some Scumbags", etc.; and co-authored "Comparative Notes @1963" and "The Three of Us @1963" with Yang Zhao and Hu Hongxia.
