Description

Introduction · · · · · ·
"Illustrated History of European Art: 17th Century" is the fourth volume of a set of classic popular art history books introduced from Electa, an Italian professional art publisher. Aiming at the fragmented reading habits of modern people, it uses refined entries, high-level summarization, split picture details, and high-information presentation to take you to understand the 17th century, an era of artistic freedom.

In the keyword section, seemingly abstract terms such as vanity painting, Bamboozionta, naturalism, genre painting, etc. become well-organized and easy to understand through the introduction of text explanations and picture analysis. These 25 art themes, from macro-artistic styles to micro-artwork types, establish readers' overall impression of 17th century European art.

In the city part, you will travel to 24 representative art centers with a strong artistic atmosphere, many masters and extremely developed art industries, from Madrid, Delft to the Grand Duchy of Tuscany, Sweden, throughout Northern Europe, Spain, the Low Countries and other regions, and there is no shortage of emerging European forces. The artistic styles of various places, their important works of art and landmark buildings appear one by one, and you can see the artistic splendor of major European cities in the 17th century.

In the artist section, 60 world-renowned art masters are waiting for you. The life stories and outstanding works of art masters represented by Rembrandt van Rijn, Caravaggio, Peter Paul Rubens, Jan Vermeer, etc. will be presented to you.

After reading this book, you will know:

★What is the original meaning of the word “Baroque”?
