"There is only one thing that makes people tired - that is wavering. And every thing you do will free your body and mind. Even if you do it badly, it is better than doing nothing."
Zweig threw a bunch of grenades at me, got my heart rate up to 80 to 90 beats per minute, gave me the kind of reading thrill I hadn’t felt for a long time, and kept my life safe.
——Writer Yu Hua
Many people recommended "When the Stars Shine", but I hesitated for a long time before I opened it. Because I was not good at history when I was young, I felt a little scared when I heard that it was a book about history. As a result, I couldn't stop reading after reading a chapter. There are more than a dozen stories in the book, spanning different eras and countries, and they are all full of excitement and surprises.
——Actress Gao Yuanyuan
Zweig was extremely adept at controlling language. He was good at expressing an object in such a way that even the most delicate details became vivid, clear and concrete.
——Psychologist Freud
Zweig's literary fame reaches to every corner of the earth... Perhaps no writer since Erasmus has been as famous as Zweig.
——Thomas Mann, German writer and Nobel Prize winner in literature
A quarter of an hour's hesitation ruined Napoleon's great career;
A small door that was forgotten to be closed overturned the regime of the Byzantine Empire;
A lucky escape gave birth to Russia's great writer;
A failed negotiation started a world war...
These accidental opportunities have become the important parts that propel the great era. 14 moments that have influenced human civilization, 14 people whose names have been left behind, have greatly influenced our daily lives.
