"It's Summer Outside" is Kim Aeran's fourth collection of short stories, which includes seven works. Most of the protagonists in the stories are experiencing "loss", losing their children, losing their fathers, losing people who can communicate with them in their mother tongue... Kim Aeran seems to deliberately crush the pain of these losses and evenly distribute them between the lines, so that the pain hits the reader's heart from time to time.
