Description
Introduction · · · · · ·
This is the story of Rao Pingru's life.
He was not a man who wanted to fight, but he went to the war without hesitation. And because he was with Meitang, he eventually got tired of the war and wanted to go home.
After sixty years of companionship and many ups and downs, fate separated them for a long time. After finally being together again, Meitang fell seriously ill and gradually lost her memory.
Pingru turned down all his work and took care of his wife wholeheartedly. He got up at 5 o'clock every day, combed her hair, washed her face, cooked for her, and did abdominal dialysis 4 times a day. He also disinfected, put on masks, connected tubes, drained ascites, injected insulin, and kept records. He didn't trust others to help him.
Meitang gradually stopped cooperating due to the pain, and would pull out the tubes from her body from time to time. Pingru had poor hearing and could not read clearly, so he drew this picture to persuade her not to pull out the tubes, but the picture did not work. He could only stay up all night to watch her. After all, she was old and could not do this every day, so he could only tie her hands. "She shouted 'Don't tie me up', and I felt very sad when I heard it. What should I do... It was very painful."
Meitang became more and more confused. One day, she said that her husband had hidden her granddaughter and would not let her see her. No matter what Pingru said, she would not believe it. He was already over 80 years old and sat on the ground, crying loudly.
She watched him cry, as if she couldn't see it.
They had a rough life and only had a stable home in their old age, but due to old age and illness, she had already reached the end of her life.
When Meitang finally left, Pingru painted the story of him and Meitang, leaving behind the most beautiful memories of her and them.
Chai Jing once asked the old man in a program: "You are already 90 years old. Isn't it possible that after such a long time, you haven't worn this thing smooth or faded?" The old man replied: "Smooth? How can it be worn smooth? Loving this world takes a long time, and this is an eternal thing."
The old man also said: If I could turn back time, I would rather go back to the more difficult times in the past and stay together with my partner.
This is the story of ordinary people themselves.
Only something so ordinary and beautiful can have the lasting power to move people!
About the Author
When he was 87, Mr. Rao's wife Meitang, who suffered from Alzheimer's disease, passed away. For half a year after that, he had no way to relieve his sadness. He was sad every day before going to bed and after waking up. He had to go to the places they had been to and the place where they got married, and sit and look around to comfort himself. Later, he finally decided to draw their story. He felt that death was inevitable, but when he drew it, people could still exist.
So, he started painting, stroke by stroke, from Meitang's childhood... In this way, he personally constructed and preserved the memories of an ordinary Chinese family, and also recorded the most beautiful and best spiritual world of the Chinese people.
