Introduction
This is the first documentary children's picture book with aerospace as the theme for children in China. From the story structure to the presentation of details, it is based on real people, real experiences and feelings. The creation of pictures and texts maintains an objective, calm, implicit and sincere narrative. Deng Qingming is a member of the first batch of astronauts in my country. He is also the only one of the first batch of astronauts who has not flown but still serves and insists on training. When growing up, daughter Deng Manqi complained about her father's failure and did not understand his persistence, but in her heart, she knew that her father had always been her pride. It was her father's perseverance in pursuing his dreams and his unyielding eyes that illuminated her future. It was astronauts like her father who had dreams and did not give up that promoted the rapid development of China's aerospace industry.
When I was a child, my father disappeared from the Air Force pilot team. It turned out that my father was going to be an astronaut. He said that he would send me greetings from space in the future! But this is a secret and cannot be told to others. I kept my father's little secret in my heart, waiting and waiting. When I grew up and started working, when this secret was no longer a secret, I discovered my father's real secret... I can't tell you this secret now, you have to wait and see it for yourself.
In the story, when the father missed the chance to fly again during the launch of Shenzhou XI, we saw the arduous and glorious development of China's space program and the longing and pursuit of space exploration since ancient times. Through the father's persistence in his dream of flying, we saw the rapid development of China's space program; through the development of China's space program, we felt the spirit of China's space program represented by the father, and the knowledge and story were cleverly integrated into one.
About the Author
Text by: Deng Manqi
Born in 1991, he served as an acting engineer at Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in 2012 and has been an assistant engineer at Beijing Aerospace Flight Control Center since 2013. His father, Deng Qingming, was born in 1966. He joined the Air Force in 1984 and was selected as one of China's first astronauts in 1998. He has been a backup for Shenzhou IX, Shenzhou X and Shenzhou XI space missions three times and is now a special-class astronaut in China.

Born in 1991, currently living in Beijing. Graduated with a master's degree from the Academy of Fine Arts, Tsinghua University, he published the picture book "My Dad is a Soldier" based on his childhood experience in 2017, which won the 2017 Bing Xin Children's Book Award; in 2018, he published the popular science picture book "China High-speed Rail", which was shortlisted for the 2017 Global Illustration Award and won the 2018 National Excellent Popular Science Work of the Ministry of Science and Technology; in 2019, he published the popular science picture book "Silk Road High-speed Rail", which was selected into the 2019 "China Book Overseas Promotion Plan". In 2020, he published "Dad's Train" which was selected into the national 13th Five-Year Key Publishing Plan.
