Introduction
In the next 10 years, whether we can make further breakthroughs in our work and life will depend on people, and on whether we can deal with all kinds of people. "Should I talk to him, or just put up with it?" In life, we always encounter difficult communications that we want to avoid: asking neighbors to turn off loud music, giving feedback to unqualified employees about the decision to fire them, reminding mother-in-law not to spoil her grandson too much, and having a heart-to-heart talk with adolescent children who refuse to open the door... In these high-conflict situations, how can we avoid a falling out and get the desired results smoothly?
Emily and Lawrence Allison are forensic psychology instructors who specialize in the most conflict-ridden interpersonal interaction you can imagine: criminal interrogation. They have long provided consulting and training to police departments, security agencies, the FBI, and the CIA, teaching them how to deal with extremely dangerous suspects in high-risk, high-conflict situations. After 30 years of research and practice, including 2,000 hours of interrogation experience with terrorists, they have developed a groundbreaking interpersonal communication model. This model may seem simple, but it is equally effective for dealing with troubled teenagers and terrorists. Their research results have been included in the UK National Counter-Terrorism Senior Interviewer Training System. In addition, their results have also been applied to the treatment of children suffering from domestic violence and the reconstruction of interpersonal relationships. They have summarized each difficult communication scenario and communication problem into a formula model - the HEAR principle, the SONAR technique, and the four animal modes. When you can switch these methods freely according to different people, you can relieve the pressure of conversation, break through the other party's psychological defenses, control the conversation at will, and build an affinity relationship.
