Alexandre Dumas (père, July 24, 1802 - December 5, 1870), known as Alexandre Dumas in the literary world, was a French romantic writer in the first half of the 19th century. He was born on July 24, 1802 in Villers-Cotterills, France (near Paris), of mixed black and white descent. Alexandre Dumas, also a writer, was born to him and a mistress. In his later years, he said that his son was the best work of his life. He was self-taught, and his works throughout his life were mainly novels and plays (up to 300 volumes), which can be called historical thrillers.
